The Bid Information and Distribution System (BIDS) is a web site designed to notify interested vendors of the State of Colorado’s intent to purchase goods or services competitively. These notifications are termed “solicitations”. Since the State of Colorado has chosen to decentralize the procurement process, the purchasing agents at the various executive branch agencies post solicitations on BIDS so that the public knows of their intent. For vendors, BIDS acts as a centralized clearing house of information on bidding opportunities for these agencies. Vendors must be registered with BIDS in order to respond to these bidding opportunities.
